Privacy Policy

This policy explains what ShortsForge collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how to get it deleted. It applies to shortsforge.app and the ShortsForge application.

What we collect

Account information

Your email address, and — if you sign in with Google — your name and profile picture. We never receive or store your Google password.

Content you submit

The links you paste and the files you upload, the media downloaded from those links, the transcript generated from them, and the clips we produce. These are stored in object storage so you can download them later.

Billing information

Your subscription status, plan and billing period. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe and never reach our servers.

Operational logs

Standard server logs — IP address, timestamp and request path — kept for up to 30 days for security and debugging.

We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell personal information to anyone.

Who we share it with

These processors receive only what they need to do their job:

• OpenAI — the audio of your source, for transcription, and the resulting transcript text, for selecting moments and writing titles. Content sent through the API is not used to train their models.
• Railway — the hosting the application, the database and our object storage run on. Your source media, transcripts and rendered clips are stored there.
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
• Resend — delivery of sign-in emails.

How long we keep it

• Source media is deleted from our workers as soon as a job finishes, whether it succeeded or failed.
• Clips, thumbnails and transcripts are kept until you delete the project or your account.
• Account records are deleted when you delete your account. Some billing records are retained by Stripe as required by tax law.

Your choices

You can delete any project from the app, which removes its clips and thumbnails from storage immediately. You can delete your entire account from Settings → Delete account, which removes your projects, clips, stored files and account record.

To request a copy of your data, or deletion by email instead, write to privacy@shortsforge.app and we will respond within 30 days.

Cookies

We set one cookie: your session, which keeps you signed in. It is strictly necessary for the application to work and is not used for analytics or advertising.

Children

ShortsForge is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We will announce material changes to this policy by email or in the app before they take effect. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
